Resources to help people take control of their life are available on this website.  Counseling via the internet is available to the English speaking world.  Self help guides to change are located on the subscription section of this website, for a modest monthly fee.

Alan L. Pogue, Ph.D., LMFT, LPC, NCC, DCC

People can change.  I have 20 years of experience helping people to change into a better version of who they want to be.  I have been successful at helping children, adolescents, and adults of all ages.  People can replace bad habits with good ones, develop  healthy coping skills for serious problems, revive failing relationships, and learn to have a good life now and a better hope for the future.

I have experienced the greatest success at helping couples to rebuild destroyed marriages, often when only one partner is willing to attend therapy.  I also have an effective method of leading people to overcome the limitations of fear, stress and anxiety, usually within a few weeks.

I do approach life from a Christian worldview.  I seek after solutions that will benefit all concerned.

Sherry Pogue, M.Ed., Ed.S., LPC, DCC

Seeking help takes courage. Change is hard too! Let me be the one to encourage and help you along the way. Whether in relationships, parenting or helping your child, I want to be a part of the solution.

As a licensed professional counselor, I have the opportunity to work with a diverse clientele. I work with adults dealing with anxiety and depression, emotional needs, relationship issues and other related problems. I love working with families and children as well.

I have over 20 years in the educational field, so I am well trained to help children and parents. As a licensed professional counselor, I am able to assist both the child and the parent in most areas of emotional and physical development. I work with anxiety, ADHD/ADD, Asperger’s Disorder, loss and grief, as well as many other emotional and behavioral issues. Parents are often looking for someone with an understanding of how home and school are related. I can help with that!

My work is as much with the adult parent as with the child. I am able to help parents in understanding their child’s problems and needs.  Although I am trained extensively to handle children of all ages, I am able to assist the adult as well.

Life and marriage are demanding. Many situations potentially damage the character of individual & marital stability.  I work with families & individuals who want to transform their life or the life and trajectory of their family. Whether you want to be a better parent & spouse, are a new, stressed or single parent, want to shed guilt, repair yourself, save a marriage, or bring yourself or your marriage to greater intimacy, sex, finance, trust, spirituality, engagement, I am eager to work with you. Change is inevitable. Let’s resolve your past, design your life, and seize your future.

I assist you in developing the life you desire. Whatever obstructs freedom is  identified, confronted and overcome in a professional, nonjudgemental environment. I do not beat up my clients emotionally. My chair sits no higher than yours does. We will examine your resources and aim them to meet your goals.

So often we get stuck believing that we are “just-this-way,” whatever way that may be. Likely things in life have funnelled us to believe and solidly define ourself. As a caring professional, I will help you make the changes you want to make. Common changes develop uncommon transformation.

Life can be rocky sometimes. It is during those times that reaching out to someone who is willing to walk alongside you for a bit in order to support you, guide you, and allow you to experience many emotions that may not be safe anywhere else is very important. And that’s where I come in! If you are struggling with life, past or present, know that you are not alone and there is help, change can become a reality in your life but only when you are ready and willing.

I have worked with many people and feel comfortable talking with anyone who needs a listening ear. I have worked with children to adults and those struggling with mental illnesses. Progress can be made in your life-with you as the expert! After all, who knows you better than YOU?

I am seeking my licensure (in December) through John Brown University and am under supervision of multiple therapists who have a wealth of knowledge to share. This is to your advantage because I am not just working out of my own training but that of my mentors as well!
